In May of 2016, City of Homes held a private listening party at Riverside Productions in Westfield, MA to celebrate our release of the new EP "What Life Remains". As a special gift to our closest friends, family, and fans, we played a short unplugged set featuring a couple of songs off of the new EP. We had our dear friend Todd Rosever guest perform violin on the set. Our friends @ Riverside recorded the whole affair, and our friends @ Conclave Studios in New York, NY took the task of editing, mixing and mastering the tracks. We hope you enjoy this very special rendition of our new song.
lyrics
I felt you depart beyond the void; your eyes grew dark, my blood ran cold.
I cannot begin to fathom it all. There's so much to say, I never got to say goodbye.
Is this sorrow even real? In my mind I still hear your voice; hear you in my head.
The wheels are turning by in the passing of the times, but still I feel the same.
I can't begin to fathom you're gone, and I never said goodbye.
How can I see beyond my loss? I hear you still, I know youre gone.
It's hard for me to bid you fond farewell, when I know I'll never hear your voice
for the rest of my life, until we meet again.
I'm only moving forward because it's clear I've no other choice. I can't alter time.
Believe me, if I could you'd be by side on this night; sharing in my joy.
I can't begin to fathom you're gone, I can't begin to say goodbye.
How can I see beyond my loss? I hear you still, I know you're gone.
It's hard for me to bid you fond farewell, when I know I'll never hear your voice.
If I could alter time, you would still be a light in my life. Through your love I am not alone.
You're here within my heart.
